Jerrod Brasseaux – Prince of Cats

Jerrod Brasseaux

Prince of Cats

His new young wife might call him “Romeo”, but we think of him as “Tybalt, Prince of Cats”.

Jerrod Brasseaux started training in Judo/Jiu-Jitsu in 2005 in Louisiana at the age of 14.  He was always a strong competitor in Judo, as well as, a member of the Denham Springs High School Wrestling team.

Jerrod joined The Judokai in 2013 and competed in the 2014 and 2015 AAU Freestyle Judo National Championships taking 3rd and then 2nd place respectively in the most highly contested divisions.  Jerrod Brasseaux was awarded his Shodan, 1st Degree Black Belt, in Judo by Vincente D’Ingianni.

Jerrod Brasseaux is a 2016 AAU Freestyle Judo National Champion and an Assistant Coach at The Judokai (www.judokai.net).

A cat always lands on his feet and Jerrod exemplifies these qualities demonstrating spectacular standing and ground fighting techniques no matter the competition format or his orientation to the earth.  Maybe his “cat-like” reflexes stem from his college mascot “Mike the Tiger” at his alma-mater LSU where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Finance.

Jerrod Brasseaux has credentials recognized in all major United States Judo organizations.  He is a Life Member of the United States Judo Association (USJA) and he is a strong supporter of the International Freestyle Judo Alliance (IFJA) / AAU Judo.
